Despite FDA Warning Electronic Cigarettes Gaining Worldwide Acceptance
While special interest groups, politicians and the like make their weak claims and downplay electric cigarette benefits, yet another hospital in Tampa, Florida made a decision about a week a go to allow the use of electronic cigarettes within their hospital.
I also found no objections to my smoking my GreenSmoke electronic cigarette at a hospital in Fredricksberg, Texas a week or two back.
Although, cigarette smoking is prohibited in most public places I have not experienced any problems with smoking/vaping my Electronic Cigarettes, eSmokes, E cigarette where ever I have chosen to do so. The really great thing about e Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes or eSmokes, is an esmoker can get their nicotine fix about anywhere a coffee or soda drinker can get their caffeine fix.
eSmokes or Electronic Cigarettes, as they are frequently referred to as, also benefited employers who allow smoking only in designated areas. The employers benefit from increased productivity. Since their employees don’t have to waste time going to an area where smoking is allowed. Electronic Cigarette esmokers don’t carry around that burnt tobacco smell…you know, that odor that’s stronger than 10 acres of fresh plowed garlic! As if that wasn’t enough, there is no second hand tobacco smoke to jeopardize anyone else s health. Altogether, it is a win win situation, the company’s bottom line improves and nobody gets exposed to unhealthy second hand smoke..indeed a plus in hard economic times.
Just this past July, the FDA did a hap-hazard study and issued a warning about electric cigarettes. It appears the medical industry and the public are more than a little skeptical of the FDA’s opinions now, as a result. The FDA has certainly sullied their image and at a time when the public distrusts the government more than at any other time in history is.
Following the FDA’s warning regarding electronic cigarettes, Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) in the UK made a favorable position announcement on E-cigarettes; “E-cigarettes, which deliver nicotine without the harmful toxins found in tobacco smoke, are likely to be a safer alternative to smoking. In addition, E-cigarettes reduce secondhand smoke exposure since they do not produce smoke.”
Still, the FDA continues to pursue the removal from the market of what is gaining more support as a safer product for consumers. At the same time, they ignore a product that is a known health risk that is currently available on the market. Maybe, loss of tax revenue as well as other unknown money streams would be at risk…you think?.
