An excellent smoking alternative is the new gadget for smokers today. First launched in 2003, the electronic cigarette provides an alternative solution for those addicted to tobacco. It’s a product welcomed by many smokers unable to quit the habit yet worried about health concerns.

Tobacco cigarette costs have risen drastically due to increases in tobacco taxes on the federal level and in many states. Compare the five to ten dollar cost of a pack of regular cigarettes to the two dollar cost of an equivalent number of puffs of electronic versions and you’ll quickly see why the popularity of this e-cigarette gadget is rising quickly. Inside is a cup filled with absorbent material that holds an e-liquid solution that provides flavor and nicotine in a base of propylene glycol or glycerin. You can choose the taste of regular tobacco or menthol tobacco or can pick from a variety of other flavors. For models with replaceable cartridges you can change flavors any time you want.

E-liquid is used to refill the cup in the mouthpiece by dripping the liquid from a small bottle. The bottle of solution is only two inches high yet one bottle is roughly equivalent to the nicotine in five cartons of tobacco cigarettes.

The lower section of the e-cig is the battery. An LED light at the tip may be red to simulate a burning cigarette or may be blue, green or any one of the colors now available. The popularity of the best e-cigarettes has led manufacturers to add some style the products so colors of the product or the LED light can be chosen by the customer.

Starter kits for this gadget for smokers include a battery charger and usually are sold with two battery sections. That allows the smoker to use one battery while the other is being charged. Manual designs are not the most popular as they require the smoker to press a small button to activate the heating element to provide vapor. The puff (draw) on the atomizer activates a minuscule heating element that vaporizes liquid in the mouthpiece. The vapor is inhaled and nicotine ingested with the vapor. In the best e-cigarettes the process is instantaneous allowing the user to inhale and smoke as if he were using tobacco.

The cartridge version is the best electronic cigarette. With a short, disposable mouthpiece this design requires no maintenance, no cleaning and no e-liquids. Replacing an old cartridge with a new one is like opening a pack of cigarettes. The replaceable cartridge e-cigs are without a doubt the easiest to use.
